Early Decorated Vase

Price Upon Request
  • Description
This early Tiffany Favrile Glass vase is formed by a base of opaque scarlet red glass with soft surface iridescence.

The rounded body features two overlapping bands of chevron motifs in silvery blue, with one solid band laid over top of a striated band.

This early example of blown Tiffany Favrile Glass is inscribed on the underside with date code indicating it was produced in the late 1890s, a period during which the glassblowers working at Louis Comfor Tiffany’s furnaces were perfecting the decorative techniques that would make Tiffany Glass world famous.
