Monumental Favrile Pottery Vase

Price Upon Request
  • Description
The form of this monumental Tiffany Favrile Pottery Vase was likely initially intended by Tiffany Studios for use as a base for Tiffany lamps. As time went on, the company began to produce these pieces as standalone items; this vase, which is not drilled, was always meant to be a decorative object.

The simple form serves to showcase the company’s rare and desirable variegated ultramarine blue and turquoise glaze.

An example of this form in a different glaze that was part of Louis Comfort Tiffany’s private collection is in the permanent collection of the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art in Winter Park, Florida (77-042).

    Height: 15 ½ inches (40 cm)
