Charming vase from the "Under the Surface" series by Anna Lisa Thomson (1905-1952) for Upsala-Ekeby having a large ovoid form surrounded in reliefs depicting marine life, glazed in a shiny off-white; earthenware, Sweden, 1940s; impressed stamp "EKEBY 207" (The terra cotta tone of the ceramic subtly shows through the edges of the design, adding a handsome sense of definition to the reliefs.)
