Description
Large Bertoia Studios 13-Rod 'Move Around Clock of Sound B-2719' Metal Sculpture. A lyrical and musical sound sculpture with certificate of authenticity signed by Val, the artist and son of the original designer, Harry Bertoia. Hand made at the original Bertoia Studios in Pennsylvania and comprised of 12 heavy brass tops silvered to beryllium-copper rods silvered to a heavy brass base plate. This “Sonambient” groupings of rods strike together and chime when touched by hand or by the wind.
"B-2719" stamped in the sculpture base by the artist. Retains its original custom fabricated wood box as well as certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
Born in 1949, Val Bertoia worked for decades alongside his legendary father Harry. Val was so inspired by Harry’s inventive sounding sculptures, that he kept the Studio going for 4 decades. Numbering each artwork that was made in the Studio, since 6th of November 1978.
Some age appropriate scuffs, nicks, dings, bends, patination and wear as largely shown and noted only for accuracy. -
