Description
Three rare glazed ceramic coat hooks with brass detals designed by Victor Cerrato . Production Ceramiche Ferro, Italy, ca. 1950
The sculptor and ceramist Victor (Vittorio) Cerrato, born in Cunico d'Asti in 1917, in the years after the Second World War opened a ceramics workshop in some of the places in the Valentino area in Turin.
In 1950 he was invited to the Italian Craft Show at the Brooklyn Museum in New York, exhibiting a sculpture depicting a woman's bust.
In the "Cerrato Ceramiche" workshop he creates unique pieces such as garden statues and enamelled majolica fireplace and interior decoration ceramics and small-scale use.
The ceramist sculptor Franco Garelli occasionally collaborates with the laboratory.
Victor Cerrati dies in Turin in 2008.
