Wall Hanging Ceramic Sculpture of a Mask

  • Description
    This mask was part of the Japanese exhibition in the 1970 World's Fair in Osaka and was made by artist, Taro Okamoto (1911 - 1996). The title is written in calligraphy: Kuroi Taiyo (Black Sun). The mask comes with an exhibition catalogue which features the large sculpture/ tower he built for the World's Fair, and still remains today. That tower is titled, Tower of the Sun. The mask comes with its own wooden box which has been stored in a cardboard box, along with the title calligraphy and the exhibition catalogue.
