Description
Small box by Werkstätten Carl Auböck with curved wooden lid and brass body, lined with cork inside. The design combines a warm wood surface with brushed brass sides, creating the characteristic contrast of natural material and metal typical of the Auböck workshop. The gently arched lid gives the otherwise simple rectangular form a sculptural quality, while the solid brass construction adds weight and precision. The restrained geometry and refined materials reflect the mid-century Viennese approach to everyday objects, where even small containers were designed with architectural clarity. Light patina to brass and minor wear consistent with age and use.
