Description
This monumental and beautifully carved Mid-Century Modernist White Marble Amorphic Sculpture on Rotating Base and Black Pedestal Entitled "In The Beginning" is by the artist William Katz and originates from the United States, Circa 1970. The sculpture features a rounded form with curved elements that beautiful nest into one another and follow the sumptuous curves and softened lines of the overall profile of the piece. Amorphic and organic in it's references, the piece is abstracted yet highly distinct and emotionally present, drawing the eye from all angles and revealing exquisite attention to detail and material quality. Resting on a rotating base and black pedestal, the piece is perfectly elevated for appreciation and is easily styled at different vantage points to admire the entirety of the sculpted surface. A well proportioned and beautifully achieved sculpture, this piece will style beautifully in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Mid-Century Modernist to Contemporary and Minimal Interiors. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
