Description
Scuptural Spiral Vase #2 by Yumiko Kuga. Dimensions: H 23" x Diam: 10"
Born in Japan, Yumiko Kuga has been a potter for almost 30 years. Her passion in creating crafts by hand sprang from childhood. With a background in fashion, she was particularly fascinated with the natural ways in which fabrics fell and took form in drapery. Her interest turned towards pottery when she came to the United States in 1983. Two years later she enrolled in a course at the Greenwich House Pottery, where her new favorite pastime grew into an occupation. Striving to create works serving both functional and aesthetics purposes, she searches for simple and beautiful forms found in nature which are transformed into objects of everyday use. -
