Antique Shahsavan Kilim
-
Description
A beautiful antique tribal flat-weave from Azerbaijan, attributed to the Shahsavan nomads. Designs with alternating bands are common enough among many weaving groups, but this example stands out with its wonderful natural color palette and its details such as the thin strips in "Sumak" brocading technique in between the wider bands. Apart from some signs of age and wear, which only add to its beauty, this Kilim is in very good condition, suitable for floor use.
