Large Antique Bidjar Carpet
-
Description
A very handsome antique Persian carpet from the Kurdish provinces of Western Iran. The design is well-known in the Bidjar region and represents a late 19th century interpretation of centuries-old themes of classical Persian traditions. The color palette, including the distinct green in the border, indicates this is an earlier example of this type. The carpet is in very good state of preservation with gentle overall wear and minor professional repairs.
