For many people Karabagh rugs remain a secret. Those exquisite pieces originated in present day Azerbaijan and Armenia and that explains their exotic beauty. While not as famous as Persian rugs, antique Karabagh carpetsare not something to be dismissed. This beautiful carpet was woven circa 1900 by an undoubtedly skilled artisan. Everything in it, from elegant pattern to color palette indicates a true treasure of Orient. The antique rug features fabulous allover design, consisting of mostly flowers and leaves, with some animals skillfully hidden in the pile. The border of pattern boasts beautiful flowers in full bloom, so realistic that you can almost smell their sweet scent. Rug's weaver picked dyes in stunning earth tones, mostly browns with hints of orange and black. The size of this caucasian carpet will make it a perfect addition to any corridor in your house.
