This find blue-field carpet is from Peking, China, and was created during the last decades of the nineteenth century. The carpet features a rich blue field adorned with images in cream and other adjacent colours of birds, flowers, and abstracted landscape designs. The central field is surrounded by a darker blue border set with traditional Chinese motifs.
