An antique Indian Lahore rug. Offset rows of tall, lozengoid cartouches in rust and ivory decorate the light taupe field of this northern Indian carpet in the Kerman style. Trees with downturned branches alternate with rosette and leaf branched shrubs. Leaf ‘pincers’ clutch small flowers in the brown main border.
