Description
This magnificent antique rug before your eyes is a paragon of its superior craftsmanship. The main field of the venerable North Indian carpet is covered in an allover lattice of botanical and floral motifs, enclosed within an equally compelling series of borders kept in the spirit of the main design. Meandering vines, palmettes are only some classic ornaments hidden inside this lush, thriving thicket. Everything is balanced and complemented thanks to the toned and versatile color palette, consisting of light shades of beige, green, blue and pink. The excellence exceeds the appearance and extends to the making. Thoroughly hand-woven of the finest wool by an apt and skilled artisan, this North Indian rug has survived until this day in perfect condition which is the best confirmation of its quality. If properly maintained, it will serve its owners for generations without any signs of wear, bringing in the unique magic of the Orient and a touch of timeless elegance.
