Description
Long rugs (kellegis) have always been a western Persian Malayer area specialty and this characteristic antique example shows a end-pointed and stepped abrashed navy central panel with the classic Gol Hennai (Hemp flower) allover pattern defined by rosettes and diagonal barbed leaves in a semi-lattice. Straw corners with Herati designs. Old ivory main border with palmettes growing from a notched undulating vine. Good condition. Cotton foundation symmetric knots single weft.
