Antique Persian Tabriz Rug

$ 24,000
  • Description
    Creations from Tabriz are distinguished by an incredibly rich array of designs followed by masterful execution in accordance with centuries-old techniques, and this antique Persian Tabriz rug is a flagship example of this remarkable craftsmanship. Its main field is adorned with a dense allover pattern incorporating palmettes and flower-heads, interconnected by scrolling stylized vines. The series of consecutive borders is kept in a similar vein, and exhibits further botanical motifs with palmettes inscribed into a flowering climber in the main border. The color palette is very classic, with the prevalence of caramel and slate blue, complemented by dark brown. Due to the apt application of colors, the main design seems to have two layers— the leading brown one with clearly visible floral motifs, and the slate blue one with the meandering stylized vinery. Hand-made of the finest wool by a skilled artisan, the Persian Tabriz antique carpet has survived until this day with no signs of wear which is the best confirmation of its quality. If properly cared for, the Persian carpet and rug will serve its owners for generations, pleasing their eyes, hands and feet with its gracious design and pleasurable texture alike.
