Description
This majestic NW Persian village carpet shows a madder field supporting a powerful navy octogramme medallion with four ivory rosette panels and a rust-red inner sub-medallion. Almost every leaf has serrated edges. Ivory corners with palest blue quarter medallion motives. Strip-style salmon main border with reversing turtles. Moderate, solid weave. Good condition. A good example of early 20th century rustic work from the Heriz district.
