Hand woven Persian rugs are prized for their variety of visual design patterns and styles. Identifying specific Persian rug motifs is an art form within itself. Antique Persian Khorassan carpets are almost always identifiable by their tapestry size. This tribe-specific traditional Persian Khorassan rug was woven on a larger sized loom compared with the dimensions of most other precious tapestries. They are notable for the interior design utility needs of large carpets and rugs. This visually vivacious and color ebullient antique carpet features a stunning open field, all-over millefleur motif design of interlocking and latticed floral, palette, and branch patterns. The open field has a black backdrop while the abrash millefleur motif striates into a warm earthy-gold color. The guard border features a regal palmette design while the main border features symmetrical floral shapes.
