    A late 19th century antique Turkish Oushak rug, the maize field with angular floral motifs around a central medallion and a pair of apricot cartouches, framed by bold spandrels with stylized floral motifs within a maize stylized floral motif border.

    The majority of is characterized by relatively loose knots giving them a supple body, and a fairly long, luminous pile which can be attributed to silky, high-quality wool they work with. The most popular designs of oriental beautiful rugs i.e. ‘star’ and ‘medallion’ originated in U?ak. In terms of coloration, the dyes tend towards cinnamons, terracotta tints, gold, blues, greens, ivory, saffron and grays.
