This stunning carpet runner, woven circa 1880 by an undoubtedly talented weaver, displays a stunning pattern that immediately draws the eye. It was achieved not by mere weaving, but experimenting with the height of the pile. It features a composition of thick elaborate vines, large leafs and delicate flowers in full bloom, undoubtedly inspired by traditional Chinese floral motifs. The color palette chosen by vintage carpet weaver was based on the different shades of gray.
