Authentic Persian Kirman Handmade Wool Rug

$ 95,000
  • Description
    Kerman rugs (also known as Kirman rugs) are truly high-end Persian carpets. This antique Persian rug embodies both refined craft and sublime artistic taste of Kirman weaving masters.

    The antique rug carries an allover elaborate botanical design featuring Shah Abbas motifs, palmettes, lotus flowers, meandering vines and lush florals. The main field is embraced by a thick border. This opulent composition is rendered in a palette featuring beige, blue, brown and green.

    As befits an antique rug from Persia, this one was thoroughly hand-knotted of high-quality wool according to traditional techniques which resulted in its durability as well as soft and luminous pile. Despite its old age (made circa 1900), this antique Kirman rug looks as if it just came down from the looms. Under the condition of proper maintenance, it has a chance to serve its owners for generations without the slightest signs of wear, bringing in its irrepressible oriental charm.
