Authentic Persian Kirman Handmade Wool Rug

$ 100,000
  • Description
    In the world of antique Persian rugs, Kerman carpets are celebrated as being among the best. Antique Kirman carpets are prized by collectors for a myriad of reasons, including but not limited to their wide range of designs, a broad palette, utilization of natural dyes and fibers, immense tensile strength and abrasion resistance, and expert color combinations. No two Kirman rugs are precisely alike, but these general characteristics typify their enduringly popular style. Considerably more advanced than their fellow countrymen, Kirman weavers had learned to set their looms so that the cotton warps (parallel wrap yarns running the length of the antique carpet ) were on two different levels. This particular antique Persian carpet exemplifies this tradition with its beautiful gold field and a plethora of floral designs in shades of blue and brown repeating in ornate patterns throughout.
