Description
Among Persian rugs, Tabriz ones are considered one of the finest, with rich selection of motifs, tasteful color palettes, excellent execution and irresistible textures. This fabulous antique carpet embodies the greatness of Tabriz exceptional craftsmanship. Its mesmerizing design takes us to the royal gardens of a mighty Shah where we can admire not only a blooming thicket of flowers but also gentle lines of oriental architecture. The ivory main field is adorned with an allover dense trellis pattern of scrolling leafy arabesques, palmettes and delicate flowering vinery, all smoothly interconnected into a graceful harmony. This lavishness of motifs is enclosed within a series of brown palmette, millefleur and vinery borders which complete the palatial composition. The Tabriz rug, as befits a genuine Tabriz creation, is distinguished by impeccable execution. It was thoroughly hand-knotted of the finest wool in accordance with old and refined weaving techniques by a skilled artisan. This mastery of making is visible in the carpets smooth pile, firm body and intricate design which required an exceptionally high knot density. Due to its timeless appeal it will easily fit into any contemporary interior arrangement and please the eyes, hands and feet of its lucky owners for generations without any signs of wear.
