A lovely antique Caucasian "sumak" in small format, featuring five stars in octagon medallions. This particular type of star is familiar from a rug depicted in the famous painting, "The Annunciation" by Carlo Crivelli (Venice, 1430-1495), and is therefore known with the painter's name.
