Description
The power of great design usually lies in the combination of two factors – quality and balance. This contemporary flat weave wool rug is the best evidence that it is not necessary to resort to ostentation and overabundance in order to create something beautiful. On the contrary, sometimes the simplest solutions prove to be the most appealing ones. Here, the perfectly worked-out details determine the oversized rugs magnificence. Its imposing body was thoroughly hand-woven of the finest wool in complete accordance with centuries-old techniques by a skilled artisan. Due to such diligent making, and under the condition of proper maintenance, this modern flat-weave has a chance to serve its proprietors for many years without any signs of blemish. The longer sides are embellished with a fringe made up of lots of braided tassels which relieve the stark composition and infuse it with a homely charm. The cool shade of off-white bordering on light gray is not only fashionable but also versatile, and it will seamlessly fit into any kind of interior arrangement, from classic to state-of-the-art. This contemporary modern rug will please even the most demanding connoisseurs of decorating, organizing, defining and optically enlarging the space. Flat woven rugs are so universal that they appear in almost every culture in the world. From Turkey to Peru, everyone can enjoy their beautiful patterns and stunning colors. Among oriental, flat woven rugs are well known kilim rugs as well as soumaks, although Scandinavian pieces are one of the most popular carpets of this weave. Doris Leslie Blau carries an exceptional collection of original modern rugs in many styles and materials. Contemporary hand-made rugs are a bridge throughout history, they are the fruit of the constant evolution of the weaving craft that has accompanied men since the dawn of civilization.
