Description
This truly magnificent River area rug is a perfect merger between past and present. It combines the centuries-long craft of carpet weaving with modern aesthetics and this results in a one-of-a-kind, qualitative and entirely timely composition that is ready to smoothly fit into contemporary decorating trends. Its vast filed is covered in an allover pattern made up of curvilinear lines which together create an impression of overlapping waves. The design is absolutely hypnotizing and may trick an unsuspecting onlooker into thinking that he or she is rocking on a boat in the middle of a waving sea. Although generally soothing and calming, the composition is given a bit of an edge thanks to the cool color palette kept in grayish tones mixed up with off-white and beige. Steel gray waves are masterfully hand-executed of the finest wool in accordance with old and refined weaving techniques by a skilled artisan. Thanks to such thorough making, this oversized modern rug can boast of a quality equal to this of the best antique and contemporary wool rugs from Persia or Turkey. It will most certainly serve its owners for generations without any signs of blemish and due to its well thought-out design, it will never go out of fashion. The oversized rug is ideal for many types of interior arrangement, from classic to futuristic. It is an option for all admirers of timeless elegance and minimalistic approach to decorating. Doris Leslie Blau carries an exceptional collection of original modern rugs in many styles and materials. Contemporary hand-made rugs are a bridge throughout history, they are the fruit of the constant evolution of the weaving craft that has accompanied men since the dawn of civilization.
