Description
Our new rugs put the most refined, centuries-old designs and ways of carpet making in the context of contemporary decorating standards. The Indian rug before you is a chic and qualitative example of how this merger of very contrasting aesthetics is possible, and how marvelously it looks when made by expert hands. The main field of the modern rug carries a design traditional to India, representing a lush exotic garden filled with animals. Cypresses that clearly stand out from the rest of the pattern are the allusion to the afterlife. Thus, we may assume that the garden is in fact Paradise. A subtle border encloses the whole. Everything is executed in a stately and elegant color palette of light gray with lilac undertones, beige, taupe and touches of dark brown that will introduce an aura of serenity and a gently feminine vibe to any space. On top of the attractive appearance, the modern Indian rug can boast of impeccable workmanship. It was carefully knotted by hand of the finest natural yarns by a skilled artisan who imbued the piece with eternal qualities. The sturdy structure along with soft and luminous pile ensure that the traditional-inspired rug will serve for generations without any signs of wear, being the apple of the eyes of its owners. Doris Leslie Blau carries an exceptional collection of original modern rugs in many styles and materials. Contemporary hand-made rugs are a bridge throughout history, they are the fruit of the constant evolution of the weaving craft that has accompanied men since the dawn of civilization.
