Description
Majestic yet minimalistic, this oversized Blue Deux Diamond Moroccan shag rug is perfectly fit for the 21st-century decorating standards. The first thing that attracts attention is its imposing size – with the impressive 18’0”x33’10”, the modern large area rug will be ideal for ample rooms to act as a space definer or a wall-to-wall arrangement. The design is loosely inspired with the iconic Beni Ourains – all modern rugs woven by Berber nomadic tribes of Morocco that were discovered and popularized by the mid-20th century modernists who feel in love with their folk character and simplistic charm. Covered in an allover pattern of loosely executed diamonds, the vast borderless field is complemented by an extremely chic color palette of navy blue and gray that will easily match a wide variety of interior décors, from traditional to state-of-the-art. The flat weave was meticulously hand-woven of the top-notch wool in accordance with the centuries-old techniques which ensures its fine structure and durability. If properly cared for, it will withstand many years of usage without any signs of wear. Although presently made with a modern twist, the Moroccan-inspired oversized flat weave embodies the greatest ideals of the classic oriental area rug craft, and is an investment that will pay off both in its increasing value and its daily service in the name of timeless design. Moroccan rugs, in their variety of textures, colors, and designs have stood the test of time. They are a classic staple in both classic and modern interiors. Our modern Moroccan rugs are handmade by artisans in small, specialized workshops, following the centuries-old tradition. They are handmade of natural undyed wool or of wool colored with natural dyes. Their designs are either of vintage tribal inspiration or traditional with an original twist, designs exclusive to Doris Leslie Blau.
