Early 20th Century Persian Malayer Handmade Wool Rug

$ 9,000
  • Description
    This antique Persian Malayer rug is an intriguing study in classical oriental designs and geometric abstraction, in striking bold colors of red and light and dark blue. Sharp lines meet floral designs over the center field of light beige, and diamond and flower shapes follow the main border for an exotic, unique look. Antique Malayer carpets come from the city of Malayer in Iran and were, for the most part, created by individual weavers during the 19th and early 20th centuries. These Persian rugs and carpets are singular in their broad range of designs and color palette, making them stunning artistic creations. The value of the antique oriental rugs reflects their artistry in that the diversity of design and color is somewhat atypical for other styles of Persian rugs, which can be seen in this exquisite antique carpet.
