High-quality Samarkand Handmade Wool Rug

$ 12,000
  • Description
    Made in Samarkand, the Uzbekistani city which in the past was located on the Silk Road, this antique samarkand rug perfectly combines what's best in Oriental weaving art. Inspired by the craft of numerous cultures, the design has a classic floral theme, combined with sophisticated geometric figures. Three medallion-like shapes in the middle of the pattern are different from each other in a very special way, showing the care that was put into the vintage rug. The double frame consists mainly of flowers, neatly placed next to each other, separated by arrowheads and small red dots. The color palette is very balanced and calm. The dominating hue, light beige, helps to bring out the depth of coral red and golden highlights in yellow. Rug's patina gives it additional charm, making the whole composition unique. If you are looking for a perfect Oriental antique rug - look no further.
