A rare example of early 20th century hand-knotted wool Indian rug. The main field displays a bold design consisting of a grid of abstract medallion shapes with blooming peonies and a lavish leafy frame enclosed with a broad angular geometric border. The color palette consists of dark brown, camel, beige, light blue and ivory.
