Description
A signed röllakan rug by Ingegerd Silow, 1916 – 2005. Handwoven in pure wool with cotton fringe, 1950s. Green with complimentary colours in a geometric floral pattern. The rug is in good overall condition with some signs of wear to the fringe. Silow was regarded as one of Sweden’s finest textile artists and has been called “among the best since the passing of Märta Måås Fjetterström.” She was a highly trained designer whose work is now represented at the National Museum in Stockholm.
