Description
A signed flatweave or röllakan rug by Ingegerd Silow, 1916 – 2005. Handwoven in pure wool with a traditional jute fringe, early 1960s. Warm yellow with complimentary colours in a geometric pattern. The rug is in good overall condition with some signs of wear to the fringe. Silow was regarded as one of Sweden’s finest textile artists and has been called “among the best since the passing of Märta Måås Fjetterström.” She was a well trained designer whose work is now represented at the National Museum in Stockholm.
