Large Vintage Tuareg Reed and Brown Leather Striped Rug, North Africa, 1960s
-
Description
A midcentury rug or mat handwoven by the Tuareg tribes in Mauritania of reed bound with leather. As such, it has all the "imperfections" one can expect from a handwoven vintage piece. No two rugs are ever the same. This particular rug has exquisite "earth tones" in dark brown leather stripes running down the length of it. Classic and elegant for all types of decors. This rug is on display at the Gallery at 200 Lex at the New York Design Center. Measurements: 9.9 ft x 16.5 ft.
