Oversized antique Dhurrie rug, a mid 20th century Indian Dhurrie rug. Woven in 1940's, this Indian vintage round rug immediately amazes with its distinctive color palette. Navy blue paired with apricot yellow create a harmonious combination, enhanced by light strips which seem to be in a delicate shade of sky blue. The pattern itself looks like an example of minimalist graphic art, but in fact, derives from an old weaving tradition.
Thanks to the dhurrie flat-weaving technique, characteristic of India, this antique carpet remains light and easy to transport. Elegant in its simplicity, the antique rug does not need a flamboyant design to be a visual delight. This mix of modernity and ancient tradition will make any interior unique.
