Inspired by a mid-19th century rug woven in East Turkestan.

The elements of over-blown size cabbage patches, flowers, pomegranates, and various tree branches, coupled with the butterfly, make this dream come true. We took the original dark background and decided to make the carpet more modern, lighter, and younger by making it dirty white.

A real white would have made the carpet too new looking; the most critical element of this art’s being a delight was the background color blending in with the old world whilst creating the new.
