Khotan rugs were originally produced in East Turkestan and are interchangeably referred to as Samarkand rugs due to their close proximity to the cultural city center of the same name. This contemporary hand-knotted wool Samarakand inspired rug displays enlarged and small circles with stylized floral elements surrounded by a border of diagonal lines. The rug is rendered in soothing and warm color palette of beige, taupe, brown with purple undertones.
