Moroccan Rug

$ 11,000
  • Description
    A Mid-20th Century Moroccan rug made out of wool that Moroccan rugs owe their timelessness and durability. The rug displays a bold, geometric design of irregular squares, triangles and other geometric shapes in contrasting shades of brown, black, red, blush, salmon, yellow and beige. The long tassels are present on one shorter edge of the rug. From versatile flatweaves to shaggy hand-knotted area rugs or runners, Moroccan rugs are both decorative and functional. They are valued for their technical qualities, expert use of fibers, great tensile strength, and abrasion resistance. Without a doubt, the original tribal Moroccan rugs from the Doris Leslie Blau collection bring character and a touch of worldliness to an interior.

Message from Seller:

Founded in 1965, Doris Leslie Blau’s rug emporium is the stuff of design legends. For decades it was known as the go-to source for those seeking the best in the unusual antique and avant-garde. Now owned by Nader Bolour, to whom Doris turned over the business, the gallery has not only continued the tradition of carrying the best of antique and vintage pieces, but has also forged ahead to create unique and innovative contemporary and custom rugs as well.
