A vintage Moroccan tribal carpet in a geometric primitive pattern. Astonishing colors in the field and the border like brick red, blue, beige, brow and very light yellow. Carpets from the Moroccan High Atlas mountains are distinguished by a very fine weave with multiple borders containing floral and geometric forms. From versatile flatweaves to shaggy hand-knotted area rugs or runners, Moroccan rugs are both decorative and functional. They are valued for their technical qualities, expert use of fibers, great tensile strength, and abrasion resistance.
