    An exceptional late 19th century Turkish Ghiordes rug, the striated beige field with carefully-composed angular leafs around a central medallion with bold vinery, the spandrels with highly stylized geometric shapes within a beige abstract floral motif border. Since the beginning of their production in the 18th century, from the Anatolian town, Ghiordes have mostly been known for their rectilinear, colorful, multi-bordered antique prayer patterns.
