This vintage Scandinavian Rya showcases an abstract pattern rendered in a sophisticated combination of neutrals hues. Striped trunks with branching extensions placed on an upward angle cross the intricately patterned field overlapping and intersecting neighboring elements. The exquisitely patterned background features broad rectilinear segments decorated with abstract plaids, striped details and punchinello roundels. Reminiscent of a shadowy forest, this abstract vintage Rya showcases strong lines, contiguous branches, intricate patterns and exceptional textures rendered in a chic combination of ivory, ashen gray, charcoal, brown and dark olive green. Created circa 1955, this stylish vintage Rya captures the interpretative, modern qualities that are found in many pieces from the era.
