    A Turkoman wool rug dating back to circa 1930. The rug is defined by symmetrical patterns adorning the rug with diamond-shaped and oval motifs that repeat. The octagonal motifs that are preset here are also known as an elephant’s foot. The each end panel of this carpet containing black, red and white comb-like motifs arranged in diamond formation. The rug is colored in contrasting shades of red, black and white. Bokhara style was once called Tekke and it was not long before Bokhara rugs became highly appreciated and a sign of wealth across the empires of the East.
