A vintage Persian Malayer rug. A tall red lozengoid medallion encloses a white cotton sub-medallion on a dark blue field with abstract vegetal corners in a decidedly Art Deco style. The old ivory border of this imaginative village scatter shows dark blue side striations, white cotton highlights and an undulating thin vine. A creative solution to a problem of size and design.
