Period: Late Imperial China, 1860's.
Rare preserved "Hundred Pleats Skirt" (Baizhequn) of finely pleated and embroidered silk with ribboning overlay and silk knot fasteners. expensive requiring much material and labor, worn by elite males. Displayed unrolled in huge frame. -
