Description
Made from silver plate, this charming Victorian piece of tableware captures history of the dining experience of the era. Spoon warmers were considered to be one of the essential “fancies” to every well-run household. They were filled with boiling water and left on the table. Serving spoons were placed in it until needed, keeping them warm before they were utilized to scoop food onto the plates.
This spoon warmer in the design of a nautilus shell with a hinged lid, nestles on a rocky base. It's in great condition and comes with hallmarks on the underneath side. A spectacular example of extraordinary tableware and serving pieces. -
