Description
Art Deco Napier "Dial a Drink" Cocktail Shaker Silver
The Dial-a-Drink Cocktail Shaker is a quintessential example of Art Deco ingenuity, seamlessly blending sophisticated design with functional innovation. This iconic piece features an elegant silver shaker paired with a meticulously crafted mechanism that reveals cocktail recipes with a simple twist of the wrist. As the user rotates the outer casing, the cocktail name aligns, and its ingredients cascade into view through precision-engineered windows. It is in original condition, even the clear red details which reads out for the type of drink. All original.
Designed and patented by Napier, a prominent American manufacturer, this shaker was produced in various versions throughout the 1930s. Our example, a silver model from 1935, bears the inscription “US and Foreign Patents Pending” on its base. In perfect condition inside and out, it swivels effortlessly and features a cap that doubles as a jigger, making it as functional as it is beautiful.
For those seeking to recreate the classic cocktails of the Deco Era, the Dial-a-Drink offers an elegant solution. The 15 recipes are permanently engraved on the shaker’s silver and copper surface, and the design easily reveals the ingredients, ensuring your mixology is precise and stylish. A true collector’s item, this rare Art Deco Napier Tell-U-How cocktail shaker, circa 1935, remains a testament to the era’s flair for both aesthetics and practicality.
The Dial-a-Drink Cocktail Shaker features an impressive roster of classic cocktail recipes, each carefully engraved and ready to guide the modern mixologist through the art of timeless drinks. Among the 15 recipes, you’ll find iconic creations such as the Sidecar, Tom Collins, Whiskey Sour, Alexander, Bacardi, Between the Sheets, Bronx, Clover Club, Dry Martini, Dubonnet, Gin Rickey, Manhattan, Old Fashioned, Orange Blossom, and Palm Beach.
Each of these drinks reflects the golden age of cocktail culture, offering a glimpse into the refined tastes of the 1930s. With its precision-engineered design, the Dial-a-Drink is not just a cocktail shaker—it’s a rare and magical serving piece, capturing the essence of an era when cocktails were as much about style as they were about flavor. A true collector’s treasure, this shaker combines nostalgia with functionality, making it a stunning addition to any bar. - More Information
