Description
Carl Paul Petersen Sterling Silver Large Compote, Montreal, C.1940. In the style of Georg Jensen, with a leaf-shaped bowl hammered finish, curved handle terminating in bud leaf, supported by four upright petals above surround of lower petals, on a domed circular foot. Height: 8 inches. Weight: 493 grams. Petersen was born in Denmark and apprenticed with Georg Jensen. He married one of Jensen's daughters and later moved to Montreal.
