Collection of Four Middle Eastern Glazed Ceramic Oil Lamps

    A collection of four Early Persian Glazed Pottery Oil Lamps from an American collection. It consists of three oil lamps with iridescent glaze purportedly from Rhages area, Persia, circa 13th Century and a later one with blue and turquoise glaze also from Iran but circa 18th century. Ranging from 5.5" to 4.25' in height, these oil lamps feature classic forms with nozzle, globular body and drip pan. The glaze shows a wonderful patina and also signs of wear commensurate with significant age and use.
    Provenance: Purportedly acquired in Paris, France between 1965 and 1968 and brought to the United States in 1969.
