Description
Reminiscent of a seashell, this large ceramic vessel by Salusti embodies organic elegance and tactile contrast. Beginning with a simple ball of clay, the artist skillfully pinches it into form, shaping each curve and contour by hand. The exterior is textured with stone fragments, evoking the rugged surface of volcanic rock. After undergoing multiple firings, the vessel is glazed or lustered within, revealing a smooth, glistening interior adorned with delicate crackles. This juxtaposition of raw, earthy exterior and refined, iridescent interior invites both visual intrigue and tactile exploration.
